So, we at Friends’ Academy have chosen the ICSE curriculum to provide a safe, stimulating and challenging place for your child to begin his or her education. We help them develop to their full potential as individuals and as members of a large group.
SCHOOL’S METHODOLOGY
ICSE curriculum focuses on the intellectual, social, emotional and physical development of a child. These all areas are taken care of while framing a balanced curriculum and co-curricular activities for children. The latest strategies are adopted to keep the students involve in the teaching learning process.
The curriculum starts with an emphasis on learning basic facts and gradually moves to detailed understanding of concepts, through interpretation and evaluation as students progress to higher classes. It is built around the principles of knowledge, understanding, application and skills. Projects and application of knowledge form an integral part and aid the development of analytical skills.
SUBJECTS OFFERED
Primary section serves as a preparatory stage for the students to cope with the ICSE programme in higher classes. Students study English as the first language, Hindi as the second language, Mathematics, Social science, Environmental science and Computer as core subjects.
EVALUATION
The evaluation is one of the important components of school curriculum. School follows continuous and comprehensive evaluation for grade 1 to 6.
BEYOND ACADEMICS
Students are given numerous opportunities to take part in various competitions, contests and competitive exams both at intra and inter school level. These opportunities bring out the hidden talents of children. Field trips and excursions enable children to expand their understanding of the world from academic and cultural perspectives. They participate in dance, drama, fine arts, western and Indian music, yoga and other activities. They participate in inter house cultural and sports events, thus developing leadership skills and team spirit.
School even organizes various workshop, seminars etc. for the development of competencies, skills and even creates awareness among the pupils.
Friends’ Academy was and will always, be a true center of learning. We also urge the parents to keep hand in hand as we implement this curriculum to prepare kids for tomorrow.
